The short version
- When you join the early access list, we collect your email address and, if you choose, which card games you collect.
- We use your email to send early access invites, launch news and, after launch, occasional updates and offers about Card Tab.
- We never sell, rent or trade your information.
- To time its hints, the site notices how you scroll and which buttons you use. That is saved only in your own browser. We don't see it, collect it or store it.
- You can unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information at any time.
This policy explains how Card Tab ("Card Tab," "we," "us") handles information collected through cardtab.app, including the early access list. If you have questions, email us at hello@cardtab.app.
What we collect
Information you give us. When you join the early access list, we collect:
- Your email address
- Which card games you collect, if you choose to tell us
Information sent along with your sign-up. We also record the date and time you signed up and which page you signed up from, so we know when and where people joined.
Technical information. Like nearly every website, our hosting provider processes basic technical details, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We don't use these details to identify you.
Protecting the sign-up form. To keep automated abuse off the early access list, the sign-up form checks each submission before it is added. It limits how many attempts can come from one network address in a short time, and it keeps a scrambled, one-way version of each email address and network address so the same person can't join more than once. These scrambled versions can't be turned back into your email address, and we use them for nothing else. Using an assistant or automated tool to sign up on your behalf is fine.
What we don't do. This site doesn't use advertising trackers or third-party analytics, and we don't set cookies. Your browser saves a few small notes on your own device, described in the next section. They stay on your device and aren't sent to us.
How the site adapts to you
To make the site easier to use, it pays attention to how you use it while you're here. For example, it notices how quickly you scroll, how long you pause, and which buttons, tabs and demo entries you've used. It uses this to time small visual hints, like a soft glow on a button you haven't tried yet. It also uses it to stop showing a hint once you've used that feature, or once you've joined the early access list.
- This information is saved only in your browser, on your device. We don't collect it, receive it or store it ourselves.
- It is not tied to your name or email address, and it isn't shared with anyone.
- It is separate for each browser and device you use, and it can't tell that they belong to the same person.
- You can clear it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings. Private browsing windows start fresh each time.
If this changes, for example if we start collecting anonymous usage counts, we'll update this page first and tell you what we collect and why.
How we use your information
- To send your early access invite and tell you when Card Tab launches
- To send occasional emails about Card Tab, such as new features, updates and offers, including founding member pricing
- To understand which card games our community collects, so we know what to support next
- To keep the sign-up form free of spam and abuse
We won't send you emails about other companies' products.
We never sell your data
We don't sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers. Your information is owned and controlled by Card Tab.
We only share it with service providers that help us run Card Tab, and only as needed for that purpose. For example:
- Google, which stores our early access list in a private Google account controlled by Card Tab
- Cloudflare, which hosts and protects this website
- An email delivery service, once we start sending launch and update emails
These providers may only use your information to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it. If Card Tab is ever sold or merged with another company, your information would only be transferred under the protections of this policy, and we'd let you know.
How we keep it secure
Your information is stored in accounts controlled only by Card Tab, and access is limited to the people who run Card Tab. No method of storing or sending information online is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect yours.
Unsubscribing and your choices
- Unsubscribe: every update or promotional email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email us and we'll remove you.
- See, correct or delete your information: email hello@cardtab.app and we'll respond within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, such as California, the European Union or the United Kingdom, you may have additional privacy rights. We'll honor those requests too. Just email us.
How long we keep it
We keep your information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until we no longer need it for the purposes above.
Children
Card Tab isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has joined our list, email us and we'll delete it.
The Card Tab app
This policy covers this website and the early access list. When the Card Tab app launches, we'll update this policy to cover the app, including how your card and transaction history is stored. We'll let you know before that happens.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll change the date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we'll also let you know by email.
